Amanda Blaire Thompson
Amanda Blaire Thompson is a native of Raleigh, NC who grew up performing in musical and drama productions with her school, church and local community theaters. She taught music at Orange Christian School and Trinity Christian School in the Orlando, FL area. Blaire moved back to Raleigh to help start Journey Church and led worship for the Kids Community for several years.
With the birth of her children, Blaire became a homeschooling mother. She then pursued her dream of opening up her own studio, and Raleigh Area Children’s Theatre (Raleigh ACT) was born!
Blaire is an active and involved member of the local theatre community. She has had the privilege of working with Raleigh Little Theatre (A Light in the Piazza), Theatre in the Park (A Christmas Carol), Louisburg College (Little Shop of Horrors), Paramount Theatre (Bridges of Madison County), Theatre Raleigh (Carousel and Leading Ladies Concert) and North Carolina Theatre (Evita, Beauty and the Beast, Mamma Mia, Annie, Kinky Boots, 9 to 5, and Sister Act)
As a firm believer in continuing education, Blaire continues to take voice lessons, vocal pedagogy classes, directing workshops, and acting classes.
Following her love of music, dance and fitness, Blaire is also certified to teach Danz Insanity and Zumba. She teaches these classes at Lifetime Fitness in Raleigh.
Blaire is passionate about Raleigh ACT because it blends two of her passions: teaching and musical theatre. She looks forward to helping your children develop their talents and confidence, while passing along her passion for musical theatre!
